ancient culture

Ancient culture refers to the customs, beliefs, art, and social practices of societies that existed in the distant past, typically before the Middle Ages. This includes civilizations such as the Egyptians, Mesopotamians, Greeks, and Romans, each contributing significantly to human history through advancements in writing, architecture, and governance. Ending with the expansion of Islam in late antiquity.

The span of recorded history is roughly 5,000 years, beginning with the development of Sumerian cuneiform script. Ancient history covers all continents inhabited by humans in the period 3000 BC – AD 500.
