A valley in Göreme, central Anatolia
A valley in Göreme, central Anatolia

Göreme is a touristic village in the province Nevşehir, in central Anatolia, Türkiye.

  • Göreme National Park: A UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its fairy chimneys, ancient rock-cut churches, and stunning landscapes.
  • Göreme History: Offers insights into the historical significance of the area, including its role in early Christianity and the civilizations that have inhabited it.
  • Göreme Activities: Includes a variety of activities such as hot air ballooning, hiking, and exploring the underground cities.

With a spectacular landscape shaped entirely by erosion, the Göreme Valley and its surroundings are home to rock-hewn sanctuaries, a unique testament to post-iconoclastic Byzantine art. There are also dwellings, settlement villages and underground cities, remnants of traditional human habitats dating back to the 4th century.

Kapadokija

Geološki in etnološki pregled
